Course descriptions for the session starting Tuesday, July 4th, ending Sunday, Aug. 27th. No classes Discovery Day, Aug. 21st

Whatever your style, level, or fitness goal, we have a class that’s perfectly suited for you. All of our classes are progressive in design, building and expanding over a matter of weeks to allow you to deepen your practice and receive the individual attention you deserve.

We also offer private classes for those who wish to work outside of the regular schedule and for those with injuries, pre and post-surgery, athletes, special interest groups or simply a group of friends who would like to work together!

All classes are 55 minutes unless otherwise indicated.

Classes which consist of more than one or two sessions per week are shown in colours.

If you are new to Pilates and wish to take a Pilates course, we recommend you take the ‘Introduction to Pilates’ Workshop first – see workshops at the end.

Pilates is a fun and challenging way to build strength, flexibility and lean muscle tone for a stronger, core and happier back. It focuses on precise movements emphasizing control and technique. We offer an extensive selection of Pilates classes on the Mat, Springs and Apparatus. 

What is the combination class?

  • A combination of exercises on the mat and reformer.

What is the studio class?

  • A class which includes springs (weight bearing exercises – great for building bone strength), mat work, reformer & chair

What is the studio series?

  • A course which offers you a full workout utilizing all the Pilates equipment, Springs and matwork and has you coming twice a week; either Monday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Friday.

Level 1

Beginner Combination Class – Level 1

The Combination Class gives you the best of both worlds and ensures that all your muscles are being utilized to their maximum potential. This course has been designed around matwork and the reformer to ensure a variety of movements and muscle workload. This is an excellent introductory course.

Level 1-2

Pilates for Seniors-Level 1-2 (Two or Three Times a Week)

A class designed for those over 55 who have taken some Pilates OR are reasonably but NOT overly fit and wish to build Pilates skills. You wish to improve and increase your fitness level, while strengthening the core and back muscles and improving your balance and flexibility. Mondays and Fridays will be mat work and springs (weight bearing exercises – great for building core strength) Wednesdays will be on the apparatus. This class may be taken twice a week (Monday & Friday) or three times a week for the full course.

Springs Fusion Class-Level 1-2

Looking for a complete body workout, without getting killed in the process? Then this is the class for you. With a blend of springs (weight bearing exercises – great for building bone strength) and mat work, this class was designed to develop long, lean muscles.

Level 2

Intermediate Pilates For Seniors-Level 2 (Two or Three times a week)

This course is designed for those over 55 who wish to improve and increase their fitness level. Strengthen their core and back while building longer, leaner muscles and improving balance and flexibility. This class is designed for those who have already taken Pilates and/or are fit for their age and do not have difficulty getting up or down from the floor. Mondays and Fridays will be mat work and springs (weight bearing exercises – great for building core strength), Wednesdays will be on the apparatus. This class may be taken twice a week (Monday & Friday) or three times a week for the full course.

Looking for a full body workout? The Springs utilize weight bearing exercises – great for building bone strength. This class is designed to strengthen your core, upper body and lower body while giving you a stretch for long, lean muscles.

Lunchtime Apparatus & Springs – Level 2 *New Time*

This twice weekly 45 min lunchtime class is for clients who have done Pilates before and are working at an intermediate level, this course is not for clients working at an advanced level (i.e. level 2/3 or 3) You will work on the Reformer, Chair & Springs to get a full body workout.

This matwork course is based on the STOTT ® Pilates principles – you will find this a challenging course with a full body workout that focuses on improving core strength and tones all muscle groups.

Intense Matwork – Level 2 *New Class*

This mat based class will move at a slightly faster pace than your traditional Pilates, but don’t worry, great attention will still be paid to precision and getting the maximum benefit out of each exercise!

Studio Series, level 2/3 *New Class*

This series has specifically been designed by Joseph Pilates – of course, we’re kidding, but if he were still with us – we know he would approve!

This series gives you two choices: either apparatus on Monday and matwork on Wednesday OR matwork on Wednesday and apparatus on Friday – take your pick!

This is more economical than one private per week!

Studio Class-Level 2-3

The studio class differs from other classes because it is designed to give clients the opportunity to use the Pilates apparatus – Reformer, Chair, Springs, Arc Barrels, Small Apparatus and Mat during the course. Many more challenging movements are introduced at this higher level. This class is for those who have taken apparatus classes before and are very familiar with Pilates.

Circuit Matwork-Level 2-3 *New Class*

Wake up your body and mind in this invigorating intermediate/advanced Pilates class.  In this class you will be shown how various types of pulsing and repetition challenges your endurance and can take a basic Pilates exercise to the nth degree and gain really quick results!  This course is for the intermediate/advanced level client who would like to try something different but challenging.

This intimate five person reformer and matwork class is for those who are beyond the level 2/3 apparatus and matwork classes and wish to learn some of the most challenging Pilates moves possible!

Rise & shine Pilates

Want to start off the day right? Don’t have the time or energy to exercise at the end of the day?  Then join Ann at 6:45 to 7:30 on Mondays & Thursdays or Tuesdays & Fridays for a Mat work & Springs (weight bearing exercises – great for building bone strength) combination class that will have you feeling and seeing results in no time. No whiners tolerated!

Apparatus Class – All Levels *New Class*

This apparatus class on the reformer and chair will challenge you and will use your muscles differently than with the Mat and Springs class. This is an ideal course to take with the twice weekly Springs & Matwork class at the same time on Mondays and Fridays.

Stretch Therapy for Strength & Flexibility- All Levels

This is a class for the fit and not so fit, for the flexible and not so flexible! To improve your flexibility and mobility, this course combines Pilates strengthening with Stretch Therapy for the whole body. Apply focused Stretch Therapy techniques that you can use at home or at work inspired by Kit Laughlin’s Stretch Therapy®.

Workshops:

Introduction to Pilates on the Mat & Apparatus

This one hour five person workshop will take you through everything you need to know before enrolling into a Pilates matwork or apparatus class and will teach you how to get the most out of each class. Ann will take you through the five basic principles of Pilates and introduce you to matwork and apparatus exercises. You will leave with handouts and homework!
