course descriptions

Course descriptions are for Session 7: Monday, November 9th to Thursday,  December 17th with no classes on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11th.

More classes can be added if required.   

All in person classes are 45 minutes, all online classes are 55 minutes. 

Matwork & Springs:

You will do many of the classical Pilates Matwork exercises designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1940s and 50s with many new additions – all designed to develop long, lean muscles. The Pilates Springs offer resistance which means you use your core with every move you make. They are also great for the 3 Bs: bones, back and balance. 

Apparatus:

Classes take place on the Pilates apparatus. Please see our video to watch clients working on the Apparatus, but don’t be put off the clients on the Apparatus are advanced!

Pilates Fusion: 

This class is a combination of Pilates and Yoga. Yoga exercises will be at the start and finish of the class and will help you get the very most out of each of your Pilates exercises. This will be the most effective Pilates session you’ve ever done. 

This course is taught and designed by Penny Perrault, Certified Pilates Instructor and RYT200 Yoga Teacher

Pilates – online

The online class, using Zoom, will take you through 55 minutes of Pilates core work while also making sure that the muscles in your legs and arms are working hard too.  Emphasis is on the development of long, lean muscles, correct alignment and positioning and having fun!

The above classes are divided into varying levels explained below:

Multi Level:

These classes have clients with with varying degrees of Pilates experience. All of our teachers are experienced at making sure each person will be challenged at their appropriate level.

Level 1/2:

These classes are suitable for those who have not done Pilates before or haven’t for a long time.

Level 2:

Intermediate level classes suitable for active people who have completed more than one Pilates course with a Certified Teacher. 

Level 2/3:

For intermediate clients who want to be challenged with more complicated moves requiring greater strength and stamina.
