Course descriptions are for Session 6, 2019: Monday, Oct. 28th to Wednesday, Dec. 18th, there are no classes on Monday, Nov. 11th, Remembrance Day.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR VIDEO DOES NOT SHOW OUR BARRE CLASSES AS THE VIDEO IS TWO YEARS OLD – WE ARE WORKING ON THIS. Whatever your style, level, or fitness goal, we have a class that’s perfectly suited for you. All of our classes are progressive in design, building and expanding over a matter of weeks to allow you to deepen your practice and receive the individual attention you deserve. 

Never done Pilates or Barre before? See details regarding our Intro to Pilates and/or Barre Workshops: 

These 75 minute workshops will give you the information necessary to enrol in your first Pilates and/or Barre course. Learn the five basic principles of Pilates and Barre so that you can understand the ‘lingo’ and feel confident in your class.

These workshops are $45; however if you register in a class – this amount is deducted from your class fee.

Mon. Oct 21st. 6:15 – 7:30pm OR

 Wed. Oct 23rd. 5:15 – 6:30 pm (more can be put on as necessary)

We also offer private classes for those who wish to work outside of the regular schedule and for those with injuries, pre and post-surgery, athletes, special interest groups or simply a group of friends who would like to work together!

All classes are 55 minutes unless otherwise indicated.

Our Classes are:

Barre:

Our Barre classes have been specifically designed to help you in your journey towards improving strength, posture, flexibility, balance, stability, endurance, muscle definition and reducing stress. Barre classes are very popular but to get the most out of YOUR body and to AVOID INJURY it is essential you take your Barre class with a Certified Pilates Teacher as pelvic placement and proper correction are key to effectiveness.

Matwork & Springs:

You will do many of the classical Pilates Matwork exercises designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1940s and 50s with many new additions – all designed to develop long, lean muscles. The Pilates Springs offer resistance which means you use your core with every move you make. They are also great for the 3 Bs: bones, back and balance. 

Power Matwork & Springs:

As above but done at a much higher intensity.

Barre & Springs:

Improve your strength, posture, flexiblity, balance, stability, endurance, while building long, lean muscles and reducing stress! The Pilates Springs offer resistance which means your core with every move you make.

Barre & Mat:

Improve your strength, posture, flexiblity, endurance,  building long, lean muscles and reducing stress! Combining Pilates Barre work with Pilates matwork is ideal in producing in longer, leaner muscles, greater core strength & stability, improved balance & coordination and heightened mind-body awareness.

Pilates for Seniors

Matwork & Springs classes for those over 55 taught by teachers who specialize in seniors Pilates. 

Apparatus:

Classes take place on the Pilates apparatus. Please see our video to watch clients working on the Apparatus, but don’t be put off the clients on the Apparatus are advanced!

Total Pilates:

Intimate five person class specifically designed to challenge and tone all of your muscles. You will be using Apparatus, Springs and doing Matwork in this once or twice a week course.

Total Pilates for Seniors:

As above with all of the participants being over 55. 

Pilates Fusion: not to be confused with Fusion Pilates previously offered.  

This class is a combination of Pilates and Yoga. Yoga exercises will be at the start and finish of the class and will help you get the very most out of each of your Pilates exercises. This will be the most effective Pilates session you’ve ever done. 

This course is taught and designed by Penny Perrault, Certified Pilates Instructor and RYT200 Yoga Teacher 

Reformer Full Body Stretch:

This slow-paced class will focus on deep breathing and meaningful stretches intended to lengthen and release your entire body on the Pilates Reformer using the PNF method. PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching is known to be one of the most effective forms of stretching for improving flexibility and increasing range of motion. Open to all bodies and the less flexible you are, the more this course is suited to you.

Stretch Therapy for Strength & Flexibility: not being offered this session

Designed to improve your flexibility and mobility, this course combines Pilates strengthening with Stretch Therapy for the whole body. Apply focused Stretch Therapy techniques that you can use at home or at work inspired by Kit Laughlin’s Stretch Therapy®.

The above classes are divided into varying levels explained below:

Multi Level:

These classes have clients with with varying degrees of Pilates experience. All of our teachers are experienced at making sure each person will be challenged at their appropriate level.

Level 1:

For those with no Pilates experience and/or those who have not done any physical activities recently.

Level 1/2:

For those with some Pilates experience who wish to challenge themselves with more difficult exercises than beginner level.

Level 2:

Intermediate level classes suitable for active people who have completed more than one Pilates course with a Certified Teacher. 

Level 2/3:

For intermediate clients who want to be challenged with more complicated moves requiring greater strength and stamina.

Level 3:

For the experienced Pilates client. You will be working with other clients, like yourself, on advanced Pilates moves suitable for athletes.
